Description

Folding rails for doors and windows can be made in any desirable height and width. They are assembled using solely rivets and screws (without weldings) and as a result they are more corrosion resistant.

The frame, the guide, the sill, the sash insertion profile, the lock latches and the vertical rails are made of hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet, 1.6 mm thick. The crossed rails are made of hot-dipped galvanized laths with 5 or 3 holes, 3mm or 4.5mm in thickness, riveted in the vertical rails (profile 15x15x15) in rows (usually 2 or 3) depending on the desired compactness of the construction. Laths with 5 holes, 510mm in length, are used for doors and laths with 5 holes, 400mm in length, are used for windows.

The mounting of the upper guide is made using bearing trolleys made of formed galvanized steel sheet, each one having two metal rolls. The rail may also not be mounted on the upper guide and instead be of the superjacent type, i.e. sliding with Teflon roller wheels on the lower guide, depending on installation needs. One trolley is placed every three vertical rails and steel guide supports are placed in between. On the one end, the folding rail bears welded little blades, 3mm in thickness, with a hole for wall mounting.

On the other end, the lock is flush in the sash insertion profile with one side of the cylinder visible; this way it offers more safety because it cannot be pushed out in an attempt to pick the lock. The lock pushes two latches which are flush in the sash insertion profile of the folding rail to the opposite directions; the latches feature built-in hooks which, when closed, lock in the corresponding hole found on the facing sash insertion profile of the frame.

The pair of facing sash insertion profiles offers more safety since there is no visible gap between them. In this way the latches are secured. In modular folding rails, the sill can be wrapped on the folded door using a suitable hinge, and open with a 180-degree rotation, leaving the whole opening of the door free and allowing unobstructed passage.

The upper guide is divided into two parts, one of which has the correct length in order to accommodate the folded door and is connected to the opening frame using additional enhancements. When closed, the two parts of the guide are aligned using a special adjustable latch.
